Mouth Care Matters (MCM) National Roll-Out.
Mouth Care Matters has been successfully piloted across Kent, Surrey and Sussex over the past year focusing on improving oral health. Research shows that oral care is often lacking in hospital and community care settings, especially to those patients who may be unable to carry out their own personal care and rely on others for support; Mouth Care Matters seeks to address this.
We are now delighted to be able to roll this programme out nationally.
As part of the national roll-out we are offering:
- A two-day training programme with a train-the-trainer approach. This will equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to enable them to implement this programme within the Trust.
- A range of digital Mouth Care Matters training resources and training packages.
- An audit tool set/questionnaires to measure quality improvement. This will form part of the required evaluation process post six month implementation.
- An opportunity for your Trust to apply for a small grant to support with the roll out. Ideas for spending can be found in the Resources Guide.
- Ongoing support by our network of Mouth Care Matters Leads.
Your commitment to this would be:
- Base line and follow up audits (a tool for this would be provided)
- Commitment to the two day training and subsequent roll out of training to the Trust
- Engagement with the Mouth Care Matters network
