The Mouth Care Matters (MCM) team introduced by the Chief Dental Officer for England, Sara Hurley gave a passionate talk on the benefits of investing in oral health training for all staff working in care settings. The session took place at Health and Care Innovation Expo on 11th September 2017.

Professor Stephen Lambert-Humble’s inspiring speech gave an overview of the Mouth Care Matters programme so far. Followed by, Mike Wheeler’s passionate update on the community side of the programme and the latest guidance.
Dr Mili Doshi gave an engaging speech focusing on work to roll out the programme across acute Trusts in Kent,Surrey and Sussex. Highlighting the resources developed, now available to freely download.
Professor Stephen Lambert-Humble then made the powerful case for investment using the information published in the cost benefit analysis of the programme. He then went on to outline plans for the future and emphasised the impact this simple intervention can have.
Chief Dental Officer for England Sara Hurley then hosted an interactive discussion panel. The panel included representation from the CQC, HEE and NHS England.
