Teams come together to deliver the message on the importance of good oral health.
Public Health England North West (PHE North West) are developing a local programme to address the issue of poor oral health. The first phase of the programme focuses on care homes. The MCM team were invited to attend to share their experience of our programme and how it could be adopted for care homes.
Delegates that attended included oral health promoters and representatives from local authorities and care homes. Responses were very positive with a great deal of enthusiasm in the room and a shared vision to work collaboratively to improve the oral health for vulnerable older adults. This will involve training staff and implementing the standards set in the NICE guidance on the oral health of people living in care homes.
