Heath Education England and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children commence training of paediatric branch of Mouth Care Matters

Mini Mouth Care Matters Launches London Training.

This spring, Mini Mouth Care Matters (Mini MCM) delivered London training dates and the events quickly filled with attendees from all throughout England to be part of this exciting new branch of Mouth Care Matters.

Mini MCM Clinical Lead, Oosh Devalia surprised all with an early arrival – A Baby Boy; which left her unable to attend the Mini MCM launch and view the fruits of her hard work. The Mini MCM Team took up the helm and training was seamlessly delivered by Samantha Tomlinson, Kath Pearce and Claire Fletcher all who have been contributing this last year to devise the programme.

Participants found shared similar issues faced within their own Trusts regarding mouth care, products and documentation regardless of location in the country.  Attendees very much enjoyed being able to put themselves in the patient’s shoes and trying products.  Feedback received was very positive:

  • Excellent facilitators
  • All information relevant
  • Clear, engaging
  • Really useful, great project – very realistic and practical

The very enthusiastic attendees left the training keen to make a change within their Trust.

The overall message of Mini MCM is simple; taking things back to basics and reminding everyone a holistic approach to mouth care is crucial to patient overall care.
