Skills for Health and Health Education England launches an Elearning course on the introduction to oral health.
Mouth Care Matters (MCM), a Health Education England funded project to improve the oral health of adults in hospital and in the community is helping to support vulnerable patients with mouth care. This new Elearning course is designed to assist health care workers and staff who are dealing with individuals who may need assistance.
The course, which is complimentary to the Care Certificate, is aimed at people looking after individual’s basic care needs. The course gives a basic overview of good oral health, how to help those suffering from a dry mouth and how to look after dentures.
Oral health begins with awareness. The need for the individual to feel comfortable speaking and eating is crucial and its absence can have a direct impact on a sense of well being and dignity. For this reason, Mouth Care Matters is delighted to announce this new Elearning course and is committed to continue to develop educational resources to spread this important message.
